Dux, Elsie E. (23 October 1900 – 30 January 1988)

Services were held on Tuesday, February 2, at Pine Valley Zion American Lutheran Church, for Elsie E. Dux, 87, Neillsville, who passed away early Saturday, January 30, following a brief illness. Rev. Alice Hill officiated. Elsie Sischo and Cindy Strangfeld provided music. Burial was in the Town of Pine Valley, North Pine Valley Cemetery. Gesche Funeral Home handled arrangements. Gerald Eberhardt, Hans Kalsow, Ronald Henning, Arnold Karl, Gordon Sharratt and Ted Linster served as pallbearers.

The former Elsie Nitschke was born in the Town of Lynn on October 23, 1900, a daughter of Ernest and Ernestine (Roder) Nitschke. Following her education, she did housework for several families in Neillsville. On September 29, 1926, she married Arthur A. Dux in Neillsville. The couple lived in the Town of Pine Valley where they farmed, until 1969, when they retired and moved to Neillsville. Mr. Dux preceded his wife on December 1, 1984.

A daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Virginia) Karnitz, Neillsville, survives as well as a brother, Arnold Nitschke of Granton; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dux was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Lydia and Leonora; and a brother Paul.
