Quast, Hilda (10 March 1907 – 22 January 1988)
Mrs. Hilda Quast, 80, of West Allis and a former Greenwood resident, died
Friday, January 22, at the Mount Carmel Nursing Home. Born March 10, 1907, at
Greenwood to Annie and John Dyre, she graduated from the Greenwood High School
in 1924 and also Eau Claire Normal School. She taught for several years at the
Uncle Sam School. She married Martin Quast, of Globe, on October 22, 1919. They
resided in Greenwood and Eau Claire before moving to West Allis in 1956. The
couple celebrated their 50th and also their 55th wedding anniversaries.
Survivors include her husband, martin; a daughter, Beverly Sisson of Eagle; one
son, Allan Quast of Whitewater; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and
a brother, Godfrey Dyre of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by her parents,
two brothers and one sister.
Services were held Monday, January 25, at Mount Hope Lutheran Church in West
Allis. The Rev. Harold Usgaard officiated. Donna Olson, of Greenwood sang. And
pallbearers were Larry and Tom Sisson, Tom and Bow Quast, Tom Kett and Tom
Craft.
