Schiesel, John E. (24 June 1902 – 25 January 1988)
Former Marshfield and Neillsville resident John E. Schiesel, 85, of Peoria, AZ,
passed away Monday evening, January 25, at Boswell Memorial Hospital, Sun City,
AZ. He has been ill for a brief time. Following cremation, the remains will be
returned to Marshfield for burial and services at a later date. Gesche Funeral
Home, Neillsville, assisted with local arrangements.
Born in Marshfield on June 24, 1902, he was the son of George and Mary (Zweck)
Schiesel. After his education he worked as a salesman in the Marshfield area. On
June 16, 1927, he married Laniece H. Scheller in Marshfield. In 1937 he moved to
Neillsville as owner/operator of Neillsville Maytag Appliance Store. His son
took over the business when John retired in 1967. The store remained in
operation until 1974. Mr. and Mrs. Schiesel moved to Arizona in 1982.
Surviving besides his wife is a son, Donald J. of Sun City, AZ; two sisters, Ann
Young of Milwaukee and Madge Ischer of Los Angeles, CA; and a granddaughter,
Judith D. Schiesel of Madison. He was predeceased by his parents, five brothers
and two sisters.
