West, Roy G. (25 July 1922 – 7 February 1988) With Flag
Roy G. West, 65, a native of Neillsville, died Sunday, February 7, at Lake
Havasu City, AZ. Memorial services were held Tuesday, February 9; the body will
be cremated.
He was born July 25, 1922, in the Town of Grant, to George and Hazel (Slocumb)
West and attended Kurth School, graduating from Neillsville High School in 1940.
On December 12, 1980, he married Virginia Lewis.
He served in World War II with the National Guard Red Arrow (32nd Division)
128th Co. Infantry Service. He was a member of the VFW.
Besides his wife Virginia, surviving, is a son Dennis of Dallas, TX; four
daughters, Sandra Harless of Missouri, Bev Anderson of DeForest, Kathy Motl of
Marshal, and Bonnie West of Madison; a brother James West, of Neillsville; four
sisters, Mrs. George (Fern) Kuehn, Neillsville, Mrs. Ernie (Beulah) Reimer of
New Era, MI, Mrs. Al (Daisy) Harrill of Pacoima, CA, and Mrs. Joe (Rica) Kernz,
Merrillan. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mrs. Wilbur (Rose)
Smith, and a brother, Leland (Bud) West.
