“Trees For Troops” (Donations - 2021)

Local Tree Farmers Donate “Trees For Troops”

Pictured are Neillsville-area tree farmers Steve Knoop of R&S Tree Farms and Paul Vine of Vine’s Christmas Trees, with some of the trees each farm donated to “Trees For Troops.” They donated 80 trees in all, which Knoop delivered to a Wausau drop-off site. The Trees for Troops program supplies Christmas trees to military members and their families across the country. For service members who have to stay on base and can’t be home for Christmas, or families with a loved one serving overseas, the trees bring a bit of holiday cheer. This year, Wisconsin tree growers donated over 800 trees shipped to 77 military bases. Since the program’s inception in 2005, Trees For Troops has delivered nearly a quarter million trees to U.S. troops. “We are both proud to help brighten the Christmas of those who served our country,” wrote Vine in a Jan. 10 press release.
