Griepentrog, Darel & Frances (55th Anniversary - 7 June 1928)
Mr. and Mrs. Darel Griepentrog of Route 1, Spencer, who were married June 7,
1928 at St. John's Lutheran Church, North Spencer, were feted at a 55th wedding
anniversary gathering June 11 at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Willard A. (Eunice J.) Anderson, 1226 E.19th St.
In attendance were their four children, along with their families, Mrs. Reinhold
(Bernadine) Willner of Janesville, Mrs. Anderson of Marshfield, and Norbert and
Wilmer Griepentrog, both of Spencer. There are 23 grandchildren and 16
great-grandchildren.
Griepentrog was born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Anna) Griepentrog December 10,
1905 in Spencer. He attended Brighton School. He farmed and was assessor for the
Town of Brighton for 16 years. He continued to farm in the Spencer area after he
married and left the farm in 1962, moving to a nearby place. He began Working
for Pathfinder Co., Spencer, retiring 10 years later.
The former Frances Neumann was born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Clara) Neumann March
6, 1908 in Spencer. She received her education at Brighton and North Spencer
Parochial schools. Before she married she did housework at various homes in the
Spencer area. The Griepentrogs are members of trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer.
