Devine, Howard B. (23 March 1903-19 June 1983)
Owen-- Howard B. Devine, 80, Owen, died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield, where he was admitted earlier.
Services will be Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen. The Rev. Richard
L. Fliss will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Mr. Devine was born March 23, 1903 in Glenwood City, to the late Mr. and Mrs.
James (Margaret Doner) Devine. In 1909 he moved with his parents from Ladysmith
to Owen, where he attended Owen High School. He married Hilda Stemler January
28, 1926 in Abbotsford.
He operated Devine's Dairy from late 1920's and early 1930's , later working for
Mall's Dairy in Owen, and Western Condensery. He also worked for Post Co. from
1955-67, when he retired.
a Member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, Mr. Devine is
survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Sy (Betty) Janda of Owen and Mrs. Tom
(Maureen) Jopke of.
He was also predeceased by a daughter, Alice, in Marsh 1978 and four brothers.
Milwaukee; one son, Richard of Milwaukee; and five grandchildren.
