Last week the finishing touches were completed on the remodeling project which
was started last fall at Dan’s Our Owen Hardware Store in Owen. These finishing
touches, including the removal of the two end windows and replacing them with
paneling and two Our Own Hardware signs. The two closed off areas have given
additional display space for hardware merchandise. The remodeling project was
stated in September of 1976 and progressed through the fall and winter. First
the ceiling was raised to the second floor ceiling and a balcony was place
around the second floor, where furniture is displayed. Then a second entrance
was opened through the back with two glass doors. The middle stairway was taken
out and a stairway to the basement was reopened from from the rear of the store.
Dan has increased his hardware inventory and expanded the floor space on the
first floor for displaying the hardware merchandise.
Stating this week and running until May 7th, Dan’s will hold an open house to
invite the public to see the new look the facility has taken on during the past
months.
Look for Dan’s Open House ad in the Owen Enterprise section of this week’s
Searchlight.
