Korth, Hattie Augusta (28 September 1893 - 13 June 1988)
Hattie Augusta Drescher Korth, age 94, formerly of Fort Atkinson, died June 13,
at Countryside Home, Jefferson, where she had been a resident for 4 years.
Hattie was born September 28, 1893, in Neillsville, the daughter of Julius and
Emma (Seefeldt) Drescher. On August 27, 1919, she married Emil Korth. They owned
a dairy farm at York Center near Granton, from 1920-1952. She was active in York
Center Methodist Church.
For many years Hattie was the weekly reporter of the York Center area for the
Clark County Press. She also belonged to the York Center Community Club.
In 1951, the couple sold their farm at York Center and with their two sons and
families moved to the present farm on Hwy. 18, Fort Atkinson, where they lived
and retired. She was a member of the Willerup Methodist Church, Cambridge, and
prior to being at the Nursing home, was an active member of the United Methodist
Womens Society.
Surviving are two sons, Wilbert (Alvina) and Walter (Violet); three daughters
Louise Henninger (Harlow), Dorothy Meyer (Leonard), and Eileen Crossman
(Dwight); 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by
her husband on January 23, 1983; one sister and brother; and a granddaughter.
Services were held at Willerup Methodist Church, Cambridge on June 18.
