Peterson, Carol Ann (23 Apr 1977)

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Curtiss was the setting for the exchange of promise binging together the lives of Carol Ann Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Peterson, Curtiss, and Timothy Peter Devine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Devine, Owen.

The April 23, 1977 rites were performed by the Rev. Roger Tellock, with Mrs. Donna Schmidt at the organ. Miss Wendy Roffers, Stevens Point, and Mrs. Barb Isaacs, Withee, sang and played guitar accompaniment.

As the bride entered the church with her father, she was seen wearing a white organza gown with the skirt forming a cathedral length train. A short veil was attached to her lace picture hat. She carried a cascade bouquet of white orchids and carnations tinted to match the colors of her bridesmaids’ dresses.

Miss Nancy Peterson, Curtiss, was her sister’s maid of honor, while Miss Andrea Lehnen, Stevens Point, Miss Beth Lukowicz, Wisconsin Rapids, and Mrs. Sue Devine, Withee, were bridesmaids. The bridal attendants wore full length gowns with matching flower headbands in rainbow colors of green, yellow, pink and blue respectively. To complete their outfits, the girls carried a bouquet of carnations and daisies tinted to match the colors of their dresses.

Miss Nicole Peters, River Falls, the bride’s niece, and Miss Michelle Devine, Owen, sister of the groom, were flower girls and carried small baskets of pink daisies and baby’s breath.

Bill Devine, Withee, brother of the groom, was the best man, and Harry Mitchell, Owen, Dick Peterson, Curtiss, and Rick Eloranta of Owen, were groomsmen. All wore white tuxedos with colored shirts.

Wedding guests were ushered into the church by Jim Peterson, Superior, and Gary Peterson, Eau Claire, brothers of the bride.

Following the ceremony a dinner was served in the parish hall, with a dance later at the Meadowview Country Club in Owen.

The new Mrs. Devine was graduated in 1976 from Owen-Withee High School, and attended the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. Her husband graduated from Owen-Withee in 1974, and works for ITT Life Insurance Company of Thorp, where the couple will reside.
