Herrick, Penny (13 September 1980)
The Rev. James Logan officiated in the Saturday afternoon, September 13, wedding
rites at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal for Penny Herrick and Dale
Smrecek. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Herrick and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Smrecek, all of
Greenwood, are parents of the couple.
Serving as maid of honor was Rita Henchen, a friend of the bride from Greenwood.
She was joined by Verlie Altman, a friend of the bride from Mosinee. Mary Lou
Klinke, a friend from Greenwood, and Diane Smrecek, the groom’s sister from
Minnesota.
Dean Smrecek, the groom’s brother from Madison, was bestman. He was joined by
Dan Smrecek, a brother, from Loyal; Pat Herrick, the bride’s brother from
Willard and Duane Strey, a friend from Lynn; Eddie Strey of Loyal and Jerri Lynn
Mayenschien of Greenwood., both friends of the couple, served as usher and
usherette.
Jim Herrick, Cynde Scheuerman, Jodi Mayenschien and Mike Mullen offered special
music for the ceremonies.
The bride’s gown was of the blouson-style. She carried straw flowers and silk
roses. Ner attendants wore rainbow colored, halter style gowns and blouson
fashion jackets. They carried straw flowers of Neutral colors. The groom and his
attendants chose dark brown attire.
Following the rites, a reception was held at the American Legion Hall, Loyal.
The couple then left on a Las Vegs wedding trip. The bride is employed by
Greenwood IGA and the groom is a farmer.
