Johnson, Christopher C. (24 Jul 1958 – May 1977)

Funeral services for Christopher C. Johnson were held at 11 a.m. Saturday morning, May 28, 1977 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, with the Rev. Richard L. Fliss, pastor, officiating.

A group of his fellow graduates of the Class of 1977 were members of a choir, which sang several numbers and also participated in the funeral service.

The pallbearers were two of Chris’ brothers, Guy and Paul Johnson. Three members of the graduating Class of 1977, and close friend of Chris, were also among the pallbearers, Tracy Johnson, Michael Kaz and David Friedenfels, and John Friedenfels.

Burial followed in Withee Riverside Cemetery.

Christopher was born in Stanley on July 24, 1958, and had lived in Fairfax County, Virginia before coming to Owen, where he attended the O-W school. He had just graduated on Friday night, ay 20, 1977. He planned on attending Tech School in the fall, and was currently working in a cheese factory.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil (Elizabeth) Johnson, route 2, Owen; six brothers, Bruce, William, George (Bud), and Paul, all of Owen, and Robert and Guy, both of Springfield, Virginia, and three sisters, Mrs. Harry (Patricia) Friedenfels, Chippewa Falls, Mrs. David (Virginia) Grove, Woodbridge, Virginia, and Mrs. Mark (Priscilla) Brummer, Neillsville. Also surviving are a number of nephews and nieces.
