Rev. Lourinda Sanford has been appointed the new pastor of the Greenwood,
Christie and Withee Methodist Churches beginning June 12, 1977.
For the past two years Rev. Sanford has been pastor of the Bethel Hill United
Methodist Church in the New Berlin suburb of Milwaukee. Previously she was
co-pastor with her husband, Rev. Charles Sanford, of the North Fond du Lac Salem
United Methodist Churches, and of a larger parish in Gays Mills and Grantsburg,
Wisconsin.
Before that Mrs. Sanford had pastorates in New York State and Vermont.
The Rev. Sanford has a BS degree and a Master’s degree in Speech and Drama from
the University of Wisconsin and Master of Divinity degree from the
Colgate-Rochester Divinity School.
She was the first woman ordained as full member of the West Wisconsin Methodist
Conference.
Her husband, Rev. Charles Sanford, has been appointed pastor of the Loyal and
York Center Methodist Churches. They will be living at 105 South Easton Avenue
in Greenwood. Their family consists of two dogs and a cat.
