The new roller skating rink, which is presently being established between Withee
and Owen on Highway X, now has its new name. The name selected from about 200
entries submitted by residents in the Owen-Withee area during a “Name the roller
rink” contest conducted by George Waller, who is the owner of the new rink.
From the list of the many names submitted, Mr. and Mrs. George Waller finally
selected the name submitted by Mrs. Herman Rabska. Her suggestion was
“Whirl-A-Way Skateland.” She is the lucky winner of a pair of shoe skates.
Mr. Waller said that he was pleased with the interest shown by the area resident
and the many entries. He also said that he hopes to open very soon.
