Mrs. Emil H. (Eleanore) Hansen, age 79, of Owen, died on Friday, June 10, 1977
in her home at about 8:30 p.m. of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 13, 1977, at 1:30 p.m. at Nazareth
Lutheran Church in Withee, with the Rev. Lloyd Yaggie officiating. Burial
followed in the church cemetery. The Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home in Owen provided
the services.
The former Eleanore Carlsen, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Carlsen, was
born September 2, 1897 in Hampton, Iowa. She moved with her parents to the town
of Hixon in 1909.
She married Emil H. Hansen on April 2, 1924 at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in
Withee. From 1926 to 1945 they operated the Farmers Store in Withee. They then
moved to Owen and operated the Hansen Locker Service until 1963.
The Hansen’s celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1974. She was a
member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church and also of the Ladies Guild.
