Erickson, Cornel (8 Sep 1896 – 20 May 1977)

Cornel Erickson, 80, Curtiss, died at 3 p.m. Friday, May 20, 1977 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, with the Rev. Roger L. Tellock, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Curtiss, officiating. Burial was made in the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery, Curtiss.

Mr. Erickson was born September 8, 1896 in the town of Hoard, and was married to Ruth Hanson June 11, 1927, at the Norwegian Lutheran Church, Curtiss.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War I, farmed in the Town of Hoard until 1962, then moved to the Village of Curtiss. He served as clerk for the Town of Hoard for 36 years, clerk for Midway School for many years, and had been clerk for the Village of Curtiss for six years.

Mr. Erickson was an agent for Farmers Union Insurance Company and a member of the Owen American Legion Post.

Surviving are his widow; a son, Howard Erickson, Addison, Illinois; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Carol) Schumacher, Eau Claire; 14 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
