LaMarche, August (30 AUG 1866 - 29 APR 1951)
August LaMarche, 84, passed away at his home at Stanley On Sunday, April 29th, 1951, after a lingering illness.
The deceased was born in Anger, Ontario, Canada, on Aug. 30, 1866. He was united in marriage to Louis LaFontaine there in 1886. They moved to the United States in 1888 and resided for some time in Brandon, N.Y. In the year 1890 they came to Stanley and located on a farm near there, where Mrs. LaMarche died in 1908. He then married Mrs. Emelia LaPage of Hammer, Canada in 1913. They retired from the farm in 1943 and moved to the city of Stanley where he resided until death.
Surviving him are his wife and eight children, Henry, Ed and Eva of Stanley, Dallas, Mrs. Anthony Wold, Minneapolis, William of Mauston, Wis., Verna, Mrs. E. E. LaMarche, Yakima, Wash., Nora, Mrs. Gordon Wolf, Thorp, Marguerite, Mrs. L. J. Quinn, Red Wing, Minn., twenty-six grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren. Also one brother, John of Cochrane, Ontario, Canada. Three children preceded him in death.
Funeral services took place at St. Mary’s Church at Stanley at 9:00 o’clock Tuesday morning, Father Geisler officiating and burial being made in the parish cemetery. Six grandsons served as pallbearers.
