Scheer, Gale Ann (18 Jun 1977)
During a 2 p.m. nuptial ceremony June 18, 1977 at Trinity Lutheran Church,
Unity, marriage vows were made by Miss Gale Ann Scheer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Wayne A. Scheer, Colby, and Bradley James Ridpath, son of Mr. and Mrs. William
Ridpath of Owen.
The bride was given in marriage by her father during a ceremony performed by the
pastor, the Rev. Elton H. Moore. Mrs. Allen DuVall, Route 2, Colby, sang and
Mrs. Ricky Harder played the organ.
As she entered the church with her father, she was wearing a chapel length gown
of silk lace, with flowing train and a waltz-length veil of illusion billowing
from a Camelot headpiece. She held a bridal bouquet.
Preceding her down the aisle were her aides, Miss Donna Schultz of Loyal, maid
of honor, and Miss Luanne Kasper, Unity, and Miss Nancy Gutenberger, Route 1,
Colby, bridesmaids.
They carried arrangements of carnations to match their ensembles, along with
baby breath and roses. Each had a halter dress with cape in blue, the others in
green and peach.
Dawn Ridpath was flower girl; Kurt Scheer, ring bearer; Dennis Kleinetson,
Athens, best man, Jeff Ridpath of Owen and Larry Schlais, Medford, were
groomsmen, and ushering were Lee Kasper and Stanley Jorgenson.
The wedding supper was served at the church, and a reception at the Sword at
Colby, followed by a dance there.
The new Mrs. Ridpath attended Colby High School, and her husband was a graduate
of Owen-Withee Senior High School, and works for Wick Building Systems, Spencer.
The newlyweds, who plan to take a southern wedding trip at a later date, are
living in Loyal.
