Mrs. James (Dorothy) Bjornstad was sworn in as Post Mistress of the Owen Post
Office on Friday, July 1, 1977, at 2:30. Richard C. Michaels, MSC manager,
postmaster, performed the swearing-in ceremony.
Mrs. Bjornstad began her postal career on May 31, 1969 as a part-time clerk. She
served as clerk-in-charge during the illness of Newell Wilson, retired
postmaster, and then as officer in charge after Mr. Wilson’s retirement.
Her husband is Jim Bjornstad, and they have two daughters, Tami and Lori.
