Meyer, Elaine (Marriage - 31 JUL 1951)
On Tuesday morning, July 31st, 1951 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church at Stanley, Rev. Edwin Krauf joined in holy wedlock, Alexander Symbal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Symbal Sr., and Elaine Meyer, daughter of Mr. Albert Meyer, all of Stanley. The double ring ceremony took place at 10:00 o’clock.
The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white satin with a pearl beaded bodice and skirt front of rows of French lace. She wore a long train and her fingertip veil of French illusion was also of baby pearls and attached to a beaded tiara.
The couple was attended by Stanley and Teddy Symbal who wore white jackets with dark trousers.
Rose Ann Heiting and Diane Potaszek served as flower girls, and were attired in white marquisette over taffeta with blue bows on baskets of mixed flowers.
A reception was held after the ceremony at St. Hedwig’s Parish Hall at Thorp and a dance was held in the evening.
The happy couple spent their honeymoon at Wis. Dells and Chicago and now reside on the Symbal farm north of Stanley.
Prenuptial event included showers at the Harry Heiting and Alex Symbal homes.
Out of town guests present at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Symbal and Mrs. St. Legenza of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Weix and family of Curtiss, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Graham and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Henke of Owen.
