Well, the day has finally arrived which we have all been waiting for!! That day
is the announcement of the opening of the roller rink in Owen and Withee on
Highway X between the towns.
Mr. and Mrs. George Waller have announced the work is almost completed and the
date for an open house will be next week, Tuesday, August 2, 1977. The whole
area is invited to attend the open house to look over the “Whirl-A-Way Skateland”
before skating officially starts on Wednesday afternoon, August 3. Coffee and
cookies will be served, but no skating during the hours of the open house.
So, come out and look over an exciting new entertainment and recreational
facility for Owen and Withee on Tuesday, August 2, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Then on
Wednesday be the first to roller skate on the new floor, either at 1 p.m. or
later in the evening at 7:30 p.m.
Congratulations to the Wallers for helping our communities move ahead. This is
an important addition to our area, where they has been little for our youth to
do.
Good Luck!!!
