Navy Personnel Man Les D. Armbrust of Route 1, Curtiss, Wisconsin, is
participating in a Silver Jubilee cruise to the United Kingdom.
He is serving as a crew member aboard the replenishment oiler USS Milwaukee,

His ship is a member of a seven ship task group, assembled to visit the United
Kingdom during June and July for the Silver Jubilee. The Silber Jubilee

maritime event of the Jubilee will be a 150-ship International Naval Review in
Portsmouth, England.
In honor of the occasion, he and his fellow shipmates will be visiting several
English port cities. In addition, the task group, which has embarked 200
midshipmen from the U.S. Naval Academy and collegiate Naval Officer Training
Corps unites, is conducting intensive training operations during the cruise.
Exercises are scheduled for all phases of naval surface warfare, including task
group operations, ship handling gunnery, engineering, communications and
electronic warfare.
Rear Admiral John C. Dixon, Jr., USN, Commander of Carrier Group six, will be
the official U.S. representative for the review, and is commanding the task
group during the five week deployment.
Armbrust joined the Navy in 1975.
