Treankler, Floyd and Mary (50th Anniversary-27 June 1983)
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd (Mary Schraufnagel) Treankler of Abbotsford, who were married
June 27, 1933 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby, observed the golden
anniversary of their marriage June 24.
The Rev. Emil A. Hodnik of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Abbotsford, was
celebrant for the Mass for family and relatives on the lawn of the Treankler
home. A social evening followed.
On June 26 they had open house at the VFW Clubhouse, Colby, where there was
music, dancing, refreshments and visiting.
The Treanklers lived in the Stratford area several years, later moving to
Wausau. In 1946 they purchased a farm at Abbotsford and have been there since.
He was employed in the area in addition to operating a farm and retired in 1972.
The Treanklers have a daughter, Mrs. Allen (Virginia) Stange, Abbotsford; a son,
Dwight Treankler, Colby; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildre. Another
daughter, Mrs. Donald (Darlyn) Haralson of Marshfield, died in 1979. Attendants
at their wedding, Martha and Alphonse Schraufnagel, sister and brother of Mrs.
Treankler, were present for the golden occasion.
