Johnson, Barbara A. (11 October 1980)

on October 11 in services held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Ashland.
The Rev. Carl Johnson officiated. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Melvin
Johnson of Ashland and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Vine of Granton.
Serving as matron of honor was Barbara Allison, a fiend of the bride from Iron
River. She was joined by Suzy Pawlek, a friend from Chicago; Kristine Vine, a
sister of the groom from La Crosse; and Margie and Marilyn Puig, both nieces of
the bride from Ashland.
Jeff Vine, the groom’s brother from Madison, was bestman. He was joined by
friends of the groom, Jim Hughes from Milwaukee; Scott Tews of Neillsville and
Mark Krumholz of La Crosse. Ushering were friends of the couple, Roger Meier of
Neillsville and Kent Burnstad of Tomah.
Serving as flower girls were nieces of the bride, Kari Johnson of At. Paul,
Minnesota, Jennifer Rogalsky of Racine and Tracy Erickson of Ashland.
The bride chose a knit gown featuring a v-neckline, lace trimmed bodice and
accordion-pleated front. She carried an arrangement of mums and daisies in fall
colors. Her attendants wore bronze-colored gowns of similar design to that of
the bride. The groom was attired in a white, tailed tuxedo and his attendants
wore gray tails.
Following the wedding service, a reception was held at the Marine Club of
Ashland. The couple then left on a wedding trip to a Lake Namakagon resort.
Prenuptial events included a dinner at the Marine Club hosted by the groom’s
parents.
The couple will make their home in Bayfield. The new Mrs. Vine earned a
bachelor's degree in 1978 from Northland College in Ashland and is now a second
grade teacher in the Bayfield school system. Her husband graduated in 1979 from
UW-La Crosse and in now head basketball coach and a physical education teacher
in the Bayfield Schools.
