Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Churkey, Withee, announce the engagement of their
daughter, Diane Marie, to Mr. Dean A. Gaede, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marlowe Gaede,
Route 2, Withee.
Miss Churkey is a senior at the Owen-Withee High School, and will graduate in
January 1978.
Mr. Gaede is a 1976 graduate of the Owen-Withee High School, and is now a Marie
stationed in North Carolina.
Wedding plans are set for February 1, 1978.

Diane Marie Churkey, RR 1, Withee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Churkey,
and Dean Allen Gaede, RR 2, Withee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marlowe Gaede, were
united in marriage on Saturday, April 1, 1978. The double ring ceremony was
performed by Pastor Douglas Groenewold at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee.
The bride was dressed in a long white gown trimmed with Chantilly lace, with an
elbow length veil, and she carried a bouquet of red roses with white baby’s
breath. Serving as maid of honor was Bonnie Hopfensberger, the bride’s
sister-in-law. Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth) Churkey, Stevens Point, was the bridesmaid.
They wore long light blue gowns with dark blue velvet trim, and a large blue
picture hat. Each carried light blue, yellow and red daisy bouquets.
The groom wore a dark navy blue tux with a white ruffled shirt. His best man was
Jim Wirtala, and his groomsman was Kenneth Churkey, Stevens Point. They were
dressed in dark navy blue tux’s with light blue ruffled shirts.
Serving as ushers were Duane Churkey and Vernon Gaede.
The bride and groom are both graduates of Owen-Withee High School. The groom is
in the Marine Corps, stationed at Jacksonville, North Carolina. They left
Wednesday to make their home in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Mrs. Eugene Purgett of Germantown; Florence Purgett of Germanton; Mr. and Mrs.
Don Zimmerman of Germantown; Leo Turney of Williamsburg, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs.
Maynard Purgett of Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Purgett of Merrill; Mr. and
Mrs. Bert Churkey of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. William Kilty of Spencer; Mr. and
Mrs. Gilbert Wickerham, Mr. and Mrs. William Churkey Jr. of Spencer; Mr. and
Mrs. Terry Plankza of Hewett, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. William Wirtala and
family, and Mrs. Hulga Alexandria of Milwaukee.
