Schwantes, Adelia (27 Jan. 1894 - 15 Nov. 1974)

Spencer - Mrs. Adelia Schwantes, 80, of Spencer, died at the Marshfield Convalescent Center at 2:45 a.m. today (Friday).

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church here with the Rev. William H. Ruhbusch, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in West Spencer cemetery.

Friends may call at the Rux Funeral Home beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The former Adelia Krause was born Jan. 27, 1894, at Butternut and was married there April 10, 1918, to Edwin Schwantes, who preceded her in death in 1954. The couple farmed in the Spencer area until retiring in 1952 and moving to the city of Spencer.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Edelhardt Schade and Mrs. Raymond Griepentrog, both of Spencer and Mrs. Gordon Schmoll, Mrs. Ronald Regele, and Mrs. Donald Miller, all of Marshfield; two sons, Gordon, Wisconsin Rapids, and Dale, Marshall, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Schuette, High Bridge, and Mrs. Gertrude Schmidt, Butternut; 28 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husband, were two brothers and six sisters.
