Diethman, Lillian (23 May 1911 - 15 Apr. 1971)
SPENCER - Mrs. Vernon Diethman, 59, of Spencer, died at 9:40 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. She had been a patient there since April 6.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church in North Spencer, with the Rev. David Ault, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery. Visitations may be made at the Jasperson Funeral Home in Spencer from noon on Saturday until 11:30 a.m. Sunday, and then at the church. The former Lillian Voelker was born May 23, 1911, in March Rapids, and received her education in the Spencer schools.
She was married in North Spencer July 6, 1929, Vernon Diethman, who survives her. The couple operated a farm near Spencer until 11 years ago when they moved to Spencer. Mrs. Diethman had been employed at the Village Plaza in Spencer for several years.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kurt (Delores) Gardebrecht, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Neil (Mabel) Luepke, Marshfield; three sons, Kenneth Diethman, Milwaukee; Edward Diethman, Okauchee, Wis.; and Elroy Diethman, Benzon, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Bartlett Olson, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Kenneth Solmon, Mequon; two brothers, Maynard Voelker, Milwaukee, and Lorraine Voelker, Spencer, and her mother, Mrs. Dora Voelker, Spencer.
She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and her father.
