Klein, Evelyn Wallburga (14 Mar. 1914 - 15 Sept. 2000)

Evelyn W. (Wallburga) Klein, 86, of Marshfield, died Sept. 15, 2000, at the House of the Dove hospice home where she resided since July 16. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church. The Rev. Mark A. Krueger, pastor, will officiate. Ilse Bradtke will be organist. Vicky Campbell will be a soloist with congregational singing.

Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Evelyn's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Members of Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be at the Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and from 1 p.m. Monday until service time at the church. Evelyn (nee Schwantes) Klein was born March 14, 1914 in the Marathon County town of Brighton to Ferdinand and Martha (nee Mellenthin) Schwantes. She graduated from Spencer High School and married Leo E. Klein Feb. 11, 1933 in Spencer. The Kleins began living in Marshfield in 1947. They remained in the city until 1970 when they moved to Florida. They lived there until 1985 when they returned to Marshfield. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid organization.

Evelyn Klein is survived by one son, Ardell (Marianne) Klein of Marshfield; eight grand-children, Michael Klein, Scott Klein, Kent Klein, Craig Klein, Eric Klein, Kirk Klein, Tina Schmidt and Amber Klein; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Herbert (Lois) Schwantes of Spencer; and one sister, Erna Douglas of Mukwonago.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents; her husband on Oct. 5, 1994; one son, Russell in 1983; an infant daughter, Beverly Ann in 1936; one brother; and three sisters.

Memorials may be designated in her name to Christ Lutheran Church or the House of the Dove.
