Krause, Herman (20 Feb. 1879 - 7 Nov. 1958)

SPENCER - Herman Krause, 77, former town of Brighton farmer who had been living in Spencer since his retirement 10 years ago, died Wednesday afternoon of a heart attack. He was stricken while visiting his son Norman, who operates the home farm.

Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church here. The Rev. August Saremba will be the officiant and burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

The body will repose at the Swarthout Funeral Home until 12:30 p.m. Saturday and will then be taken to the church.

Mr. Krause was born in the town of Brighton Feb. 20. 1879. He was town supervisor there for 22 years and was a director of the Brighton School district for 15 years. He married Amanda Mellenthin Oct. 29, 1903, at Spencer.

He is survived by the widow; seven children, Mrs. Leonard (Lorena) Cramer, Spencer; Mrs. Joseph (Linda) Wallner and Mrs. Allen (Lillian) Dietsche, Marshfield; Mrs. Walter (Frances) Neumann, Fox Lake; Erwin, Clyman; Mrs. Clifford (Dorothy) Wiesman, Stratford; and Norman; five brothers, Otto, Spencer; Paul, Deer River; Minn.; Frank and Robert, Marshfield; and Myron, Knowles; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. One sister preceded him in death.
