Luepke, Ella (23 Oct. 1890 - 5 Sept. 1959)

SPENCER - Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. R. Krueger in Trinity Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday for Mrs. Fred Luepke, 68, who died at her home here Saturday. Burial was made in Trinity Church cemetery.

The girls choir of the church, accompanied by Mrs. Arnold Bruesewitz, sang "What a Friend we Have in Jesus," and "I'm But a Stranger Here." Pallbearers were Herman Toltzman, Blaine Swarthout, George Schwantes, Frank Oelrich, John Voelker and John Karau. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Herman Toltzman, Mrs. Blaine Swarthout, Mrs. George Schwantes, Mrs. Frank Oelrich, Mrs. John Voelker and Mrs. John Karau.

Out-of-town persons attending the rites included Elmer Luepke, Fred Luepke Jr., Della Tigges and Mrs. Walter Englebreth, all of Racine; Mrs. Chris Peterson, Evanston, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schuette, Highbridge; Mrs. Henry Zimmerman, Berwyn, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. William Krause Jr., and son, McHenry, Ill.;

Mrs. Minnie Wilkins and Roy Wilkins, Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lambert, Edgar; Mrs. August Luepke, Marshfield; Charles Luepke, Medford; Mrs. Amelia Clouse and Mrs. Henry Taffe, Humbird; Mrs. Ernie Weinke, Mrs. Ray Panzer, Mrs. Frank Hare, Mrs. A. Marick, all of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Owen, Waupaca; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Schmidt, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Tank, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Klaess and family; Mr. and Mrs. William Krause, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Netzel, Mrs. Pauline Tank and Robert Miller, all of Butternut.

The former Ella Krause was born at Butternut Oct. 23, 1890, and was married there Oct. 23, 1913, to Fred Luepke, who survives her. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Otto (Irene) Verch, Spencer; three sons, Arnold, Spencer; and Elmer and Fred Jr., Racine; six sisters, Mrs. Minnie Wilkins, Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Della Schwantes, Spencer; Mrs. Chris Peterson, Evanston, Ill.; Mrs. Fred Schuette, Highbridge; Mrs. Pete Netzel and Mrs. Martin Schmidt, Butternut; a brother, William Krause, Butternut, and 11 grandchildren.

Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
