Luepke, William (10 Oct. 1889 - 4 Apr. 1972)

SPENCER - William Luepke, 82, Spencer, died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a patient since March 20.

Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church here, with the Rev. William Ruhbusch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.

Visitations may be made at the Jasperson Funeral Home here from 2 p.m. Thursday until 11:30 a.m. Friday and then at the church.

Mr. Luepke was born Oct. 10, 1889, in the town of Brighton, and received his education in Spencer schools. He was married June 11, 1913, in Spencer, to Alvina Foth, who survives. The couple farmed north of Spencer until 1948 when they moved into the village of Spencer.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, was a church council member for several years, was clerk of Brighton School, assessor of town of Brighton for a time, and assessor of village of Spencer for several years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John (Norma) Cross, Marshfield, three sons, Vilas, Leonard and Elroy Luepke, all of Spencer; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
