Plath, Vernon C. (6 Sept. 1926 - 2 Jan. 1991)
Services for Vernon C. Plath, 64, of 503 S. Walnut Ave., who died at 7:36 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital where he had been admitted earlier in the day, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hansen Funeral Home.
The Rev. Robert Reinhardt of Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate. The soloist will be Chris Ross, and Bruce Jensema will be the organist. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday and until service time Saturday at the funeral home. He was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Spencer, to Herman and Erna (Dittman) Plath. He attended Spencer and Marshfield schools. He married Betty Moen Dec. 20, 1947, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He moved to Marshfield as a teen-ager with his parents. After his education, he worked for Trierweiler Ice and Fuel. He later worked for Felker Service Station as an attendant for several years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He then was employed as a milk hauler for Clover Cream Dairy for several years and then managed Jelco Bus Co. for 12 years. His last employment was with Arpin Dairy as a milk hauler until his retirement in 1980 because of ill health.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Karen Kalson of Mosinee and Mrs. Michael (Luane) Lucht of Spencer; two sons, Terry and Jeffrey, both of Marshfield; one brother, Norbert of Marshfield; one sister, Mrs. Louise Lee of Phillips; and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents.
