Debalske, Belvia Mae (26 May 1923 - 12 May 2008)

Belvia Mae Borth Debalske, 84, Wausau, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.

She was born May 26, 1923, in Mosinee, daughter of the late Henry and Anna Borth. She was a graduate of Mosinee High School. Upon graduation she joined the U.S. Air Force, serving in India during World War II. On Jan. 26, 1945, she married James Debalske in Wausau.

Bel was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed gardening, football and trips up north to their cabin. She was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

She is survived by her husband, James, Wausau; son, Dennis David Debalske, Wausau; daughter, Denise Diane (Steve) Konz, Sleepy Eye, Minn.; two grandchildren, Tracy (Tim) Zieska, Phoenix, and Laurie (Neal) Van Winkle, Farmington, Minn.; three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Tori and Jordon; and three sisters, Verna Justesen, Wausau, Beulah Arnold, Mosinee, and Ruby Sparby, Wausau. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Borth, Ray Borth and Vern Borth.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau. The Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, with full military honors conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post No. 388, Wausau. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, and again from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday, all at the funeral home.
