EDGAR -- Germaine R. Zweck, 80, Edgar, died June 9, 2008, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Hospice House, Wausau. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 327 N. 3rd Ave., Edgar, and again from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

EDGAR -- Germaine R. Zweck, 80, of Edgar, died June 9, 2008, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Hospice House, Wausau.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. The Rev. Robert Streveler will preside.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 327 N. Third Ave., Edgar, and again from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
She was born Aug. 30, 1927, in the town of Cassel, daughter of the late George and Margaret (Fischer) Wagner. On June 15, 1949, she married Reuben Zweck at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgar. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 2004.
She was employed at the Edgar Post Office for 35 years until her retirement. During her lifetime, she was an active member of St. John Catholic Parish as well as the Edgar community. Along with her husband, she did mission work in Camden, Miss., and volunteered at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Germaine served on the Edgar Volunteer Fire Department as an EMT and was an Edgar Public High School board member. She also was St. John's Parish president, a member of the National Catholic Order of Foresters and held an office on the Wausau Deanery. Germaine was instrumental in the development of the Edgar Youth Futures Organization, which was a mentoring group for adolescents.
Survivors include six children, Paula (Keith) Langenhahn, Jon (Pauline) Zweck, Margaret (Dave) McGrath, Teresa Stieber, Joe Zweck (friend Chris Borleske) and Karen (Rick) Patton; seven grandchildren, Matt Langenhahn, Chris (Jodi) Langenhahn, Jacob Langenhahn, Jordan Zweck, Justin Zweck, Marissa Stieber and Brad Stieber; brothers, George (Ann) Wagner and Dan (Joan) Wagner; sisters, Margaret Wagner, Eunice Tess, Delores (Paul) Gohdes and Joanie (Arden) Baeseman; sister-in-law, Hazel Wagner; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Reuben, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Zweck; brothers, Roman Wagner and Gerald Wagner; and sister, Marie McWaters.
Germaine's "Philosophy of Life" as written by Edward Evert Hale: "I am one. And because I am only one, I cannot do everything. But I am one. And I can do something. So I will not refuse to do the something I can do."
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Hospice House for the excellent care given to Germaine during her stay.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Edgar Area Trail Supporters, 215 E. Beech Street, Edgar WI 54426, St. John Catholic Church, St. John Catholic School or the Edgar Volunteer Fire Department, Edgar WI 54426.
