Romang, Emanuel (20 Dec. 1881 - 8 Jan. 1965)
ATHENS - Emanuel Romang, Sr., 83, Athens, a brother of Mrs. Christ Keiner, Greenwood, and a frequent visitor in the Greenwood area, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 6 p.m. Friday at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Church of Christ in Athens. Burial will be made in the Athens cemetery.
The body is reposing at the Giles and Son Funeral Home in Athens until 11 a.m. Monday, when it will be taken to the church.
Emanuel Romang Sr., was born Dec. 20, 1881, in Saanen, Switzerland, and, at the age of three years came with his parents to the United States. The family settled in Black Creek Falls, which is now Athens, where he received his education.
His marriage to Anna Wenger took place Sept. 23, 1905, at Christ Evangelical Church in Athens. The Romangs had lived on the same place since 1914.
