Hoops, Mr./Mrs. John (56th Anniv. - 2 Mar. 1934)

Spencer, March 2 - Mr. and Mrs. John Hoops celebrated their fifty-sixth wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Harry Graham, where a surprise party was held in their honor Wednesday evening. Many relatives and friends called on them during the day to extend congratulations.

The evening was spent socially and cards were played, after which a lunch was served. Mr. and Mrs. Hoops received a number of gifts from their guests. Out of town guests at the family gathering were their son, Henry, of Moon, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Molle, Unity.

Mr. and Mrs. Hoops celebrated their seventy-eighth and seventy-third birthdays, respectively, during the first week of February, and find themselves still young enough to enjoy life to the full measure.
