Bruss, Florence (Marriage - 8 Nov. 1952)

Now making their home in Newport News, Va., are Sgt. and Mrs. Leonard Jasinski, whose marriage took place at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. The bride is the former Florence S. Bruss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Bruss, Spencer, and the groom is the son of Mike Jasinski, of Thorp. The couple repeated their marriage vows Nov. 8 during a double-ring ceremony performed at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Randolph Mueller.

Mr. and Mrs. William Denk, Jr., brother-in-law and sister of the bride, were best man and matron of honor. Ushers were Elmer Bruss and Edward Jasinski.

Music was furnished by Norbert Boock, and the bride’s cousin, Mr. Emil Josephs sang, “Today O Lord We At Thy Altar Stand” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”

A white floor-length gown of lace and tulle was chosen by the bride, her finger-tip veil of illusion being attached to an orange blossom crown which had been worn by her grandmother 57 years ago. Her colonial bouquet was comprised of white mums and red roses.

As matron of honor, Mrs. Denk wore a green gown with velvet bodice and net skirt, and matching headpiece. She carried a colonial bouquet of yellow and bronze mums.

The bride’s mother was attired in a wine-colored dress with a corsage of yellow and white carnations with roses.

Guests from Milwaukee, West Allis, Nekoosa, Port Edwards, Eau Claire, Thorp and Spencer attended the reception held at the home of the bride’s parents, followed with a supper for approximately 50 friends and relatives. A dance was held that evening at the Country Ballroom, Marshfield.

Formerly employed at the Wisconsin State Employment Service in Milwaukee, the bride is a graduate of Spencer High School. The groom has been serving in the U.S. Armed Forces for the past 18 months and is presently stationed at New Port News until his discharge.
