Hoge, Esther (5 June 1909 - 2 Dec. 1996)

ATHENS - Former Athens resident, Esther Clara Hoge, 87, died Dec. 2, 1996, at Colonial House Nursing & Rehabilitaton Center, Colby.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. Burial will be in the Athens Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, and again on Thursday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.

She was born June 5, 1909, in the town of Halsey.

She farmed with her husband in the town of Halsey until retiring in 1973.

Survivors are four daughters, Norma (Sylvester) Heie, Luann (Gordon) Thurs and Nila (Frank) Koeller, all of Athens, and Violet (Rev. Roland) Golz of Gresham; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Streich of Wittenberg, Florella Berghammer of Athens and Stella Foss of Madison; and a brother, Roland (Hildegard) Weise of Green Bay.
