Wills, Kenneth O. (24 Jan. 1925 - 5 Aug. 1994)
Kenneth O. Wills, 69, town of McMillan, died Aug. 5, 1994, at his home following a lingering illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Revs. John W. Schneck and Gary Albert will be officiating. Internment will be at Hillside Lutheran Cemetery. Relatives will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Hansen’s Funeral Home, and at the church Monday after 10 a.m. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 54 at the cemetery.
He was born Jan. 24, 1925 in Milwaukee. He was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. He was married to Elizabeth Luther on June 23, 1948 in Marshfield. He attended Chicago School of Electronics.
He served in World War II for 2 years, 1 ½ of those in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he returned to the Marshfield area and worked as a cheesemaker at Mannville until 1955. He then owned and operated Central T.V. and Sales from 1956-1971. He was then employed by St. Joseph’s Hospital from 1973-1986, when he retired.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 54. He constructed the cross in the chancel of the new Immanuel Lutheran Church and was active in the building of various cabinetry in the church.
He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Patricia L. (Dean) Blum of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Douglas A. Wills of New York, N.Y.; a foster brother, Arnold (Lucille) Mellenthin of Marshfield; three half-brothers, Lyle (Jan) Wills of Rockford, Ill.; Carl Wills and Bud Wills of Chicago, Ill.; three half sisters, Inez (Rueben) Bailey of Katy, Texas; Janice (Guy) Brandl of Marshfield; and Connie (Garry) Koehler of Marshfield; his mother, Martha Wills of Marshfield; his foster mother, Mary Mellenthin of Marshfield, and a grandson, James Blum.
Memorials may be designated to Immanuel Lutheran Church Bell Tower, the Hospice Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital, or Marshfield Medical Foundation for cancer research.
