Draheim, Ethelyn H. (27 Feb. 1922 - 15 Feb. 2005)
Ethelyn H. Draheim, 82, of the town of McMillan died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at her home with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church. The Rev. Michael Carlson will officiate. Jean Rochrborn will provide music and Dave Yonker will serve as soloist. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
Teacher at the Forman School near Christie and later taught at the Chili School and City View School in Marathon County. After her marriage, she and Pat farmed north of Marshfield. The couple owned and operated Patland Nursery, offering landscaping and selling Christmas trees from 1952 to 1977.
The Draheims started the Mara-wood 4-H club in Marathon County. Ethelyn was a 4-H leader for 35 years and received the highest Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
Hansen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ethelyn was born Feb. 27, 1922, a daughter of Arthur and Esther (Schilling)
Lindow. On June 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to Wilmer "Pat" Draheim atg
the Evangelical United Brethern Church in Chili. Pat preceded her in death on
May 2, 1977.
Ethelyn attended Cozy Corner elementary school in the town of Fremont and
graduated from Granton High School. She attended college at the Wood County
Normal in Wisconsin Rapids, where she received her teaching certificate.
Mrs. Draheim was a school teacher at the Forman
honor given a 4-H leader in Marathon County, the Leadership Award. She was a
member of Zion United Methodist Church, past president of the United Methodist
Women, church volunteer, member of the Young at Hearts and the church librarian.
She also volunteered at the Marshfield Nursing Center and Soup or Socks.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildrfen and flower
gardening.
She is lovingly survived by four sons, Keith Draheim, Wausau, Gary (Debbie)
Draheim, Ocoee, Fla., William (Marina) Draheim, Mosinee, and Richard Draheim,
Cornucopia. Seven grandchildren, Tracy, Patti, Jodi, Mindy, Megan, Shawn, and
Jared further survive Ethelyn.
Her parents and one niece, Cindy, preceded her in death.
