Solchenberger, Nila Fern (Marriage - 10 June 1944)

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence H. Venzke are at home on the bridegroom’s farm in the town of Johnson, following their marriage last Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock in the Bethlehem Lutheran church at Milan. The bride is the former Nila Fern Solchenberger.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Solchenberger, town of Johnson. Mr. Venzke is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Venzke, town of Holton.

For the wedding service, which was read by the Rev. E. E. Malueg, the church was decorated with white flowers.

Attendants for the couple were Miss Ila Solchenberger, the twin sister of the bride, as maid of honor; Miss Beatrice Venzke, Milwaukee, and Miss Hazel Solchenberger, sisters of the wedding couple, bridesmaids; Werner Schaefer, best man, and Lawrence Solchenberger and Benno Venzke, ushers.

The bride wore a gown of white taffeta, made with a full skirt and long train, and a lace edged veil held in place by a beaded headdress. Her shower bouquet was of pink and white roses and carnations.

Full skirted, floor length gowns of taffeta were worn by the attendants, the maid of honor’s in green, Miss Venzke’s in pale blue and the other bridesmaid’s in rose. They wore shoulder length veils and headdresses matching their dresses and corsages.

For the reception and dinner following the ceremony, the Solchenberger home was decorated in white, green, pink and blue. A dance was held at the Trianon ball room in the evening.
