Venzke, Ruby (Marriage - 25 Oct. 1941)
Miss Ruby Venzke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Venzke, Town of Johnson, and Ray Denzin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Denzin, Town of Holton, exchanged marriage vows beneath an arch of blue and pink streamers and pink roses before the altar in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Town of Wien, Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Emil Malueg read the service at 1:30.
An entrained gown of white velveray taffeta was chosen by the bride for the occasion. Her veil fell in a long train from a tiara headdress. She carried a shower bouquet of pink and white chrysanthemums.
Blue taffeta was worn by the maid of honor, Miss Mildred Denzin, Chicago, sister of the bridegroom. A frock of pink taffeta worn by the bridesmaid, Miss Elva Venzke, sister of the bride made a dainty contrast. Both attendants wore pompoms in their hair.
Edward Venzke, Brighton, Ia., brother of the bride, and Eldon Denzin, brother of the groom, attended Mr. Denzin.
A reception and dinner was held at the home of the bride’s parents which was decorated in twisted streamers of white, pink and blue. About 75 guests attended. A wedding dance was held at Jerkwater in the evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Denzin will make their home for the present on the farm with the groom’s parents.
Among the out of town guests at the reception included: Mr. and Mrs. Herman Denzin, Mukwonago; Miss Viola Denzin, Chicago; Edward Venzke, Brighton; the Misses Margaret and Dorothy Graper, Iowa City, Iowa; Robert Venzke, Fort Mead, S.D.; Arno Denzin, Milwaukee; and Miss Elva Venzke, Wausau.
