Venzke, Lillian (Marriage - 28 Aug. 1943)

Miss Lillian Venzke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Venzke, town of Johnson, and Chester Buss, son of George Buss, town of Holton, were united in marriage, Saturday, Aug. 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran church of Milan. The Rev. E. E. Malueg officiated at the services.

Miss Adeline, sister of the groom, was maid of honor, and Miss Beatrice Venzke, sister of the bride, was the bridesmaid.

Attending the groom were Clarence Venzke, brother of the bride, and James Buss, brother of the groom.

The bride wore a beautiful, white floor length gown, long veil and carried a shower bouquet. Pale blue and pink gowns with matching accessories were worn by the maid of honor and bridesmaid.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents after the ceremony and a dance was held at Bruckerville in the evening.

At 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon of Aug. 28, Miss Lillian Venzke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Venzke of the town of Holton, and Chester Buss, son of George Buss, also of the town of Holton, exchanged marriage vows in the Bethlehem Lutheran church at Milan. The Rev. Emanuel Malueg read the marriage service.

A gown of white satin with fitted bodice and full skirt was worn by the bride. Her tulle veil was of finger length. In her bouquet were roses and bachelor buttons.

Attendants of the bride were Miss Beatrice Venzke, of Medford, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, and Mrs. Vance Yost, of the town of Holton, sister of the groom. Both were gowned alike in taffeta frocks of pink and blue, respectively. Each wore a gold cross, gifts of the bride, and carried a bouquet of ?.

Attending the groom were James Buss, brother of the groom, of the town of Holton, and Clarence Venzke, brother of the bride, of the town of Johnson.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Approximately 100 guests attended. The house was decorated with white, pink and blue streamers and white wedding bells and cut garden flowers for the occasion.

In the evening a wedding dance was held at Jerkwater hall.

Mr. and Mrs. Buss are at home to friends on a farm in the town of Bern.
