Heindel, Mercedes (Marriage - 11 Nov. 1944)
Miss Mercedes Heindel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Heindel, town of Johnson, and Herbert Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnson, town of Frankfort, were united in marriage at St. Thomas’ Catholic church at 9:00 o’clock Saturday morning. The nuptial high mass was read by the Rev. Raymond Schultz.
The bride wore a beautiful gown of white chiffon over white silk. Her veil with long train was held in place by a wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums and pink roses.
Mrs. Frank Mattis, Wausau, sister of the bride, wearing a gown of pink chiffon, acted as maid of honor. Miss Marie Mohn, of Edgar, bridesmaid, wore a gown of blue chiffon. Both attendants had shoulder tip veils and accessories to match their gowns.
The best man was Frank Mattis, of Wausau; Sonny Wehrman, Colby, acted as usher.
A reception was held and dinner was served to relatives at the home of the bride’s parents. A dance at Trianon Gardens was held in the evening.
The young couple will reside with the bride’s parents on a farm south of Milan.
