Woodruff, John J. (7 July 1913 - 19 Sept. 2004)
John J. Woodruff, age 91, of Orlando, FL., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004 at the Commons at Orlando Lutheran Towers. He was born on July 7, 1913 in Spencer, WI, the son of Jessie and Mary (Fisher) Woodruff. He served his country in World War Two, serving in the Army. John married Grada Beekhuizen on July 17, 1945 in Muth, Holland. They lived in the suburban Chicago area from 1963 to 1977. John was a machinist for Siemans Medical Systems of Des Plaines, IL. They farmed years ago in the Germania area and belonged to the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Germania. They then built and moved to a home, on Bend Road, on the Fox River, near Princeton and later moved to Princeton. In 1988 to 1996 they lived in Berlin before moving to Florida. John J. is survived by his son John H. Woodruff of Orlando, FL.; 2 grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law Corie Weber of Princeton and Rickey Schock of Berlin. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Grada, and 3 sisters. A funeral service for John J. Woodruff will take place on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, from the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. David Busker officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Germania Lutheran Cemetery.
