Pauline T. Schwichtenberg, 80, 920 S. Old Highway 51, Mosinee, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born April 3, 1926, in the town of Cassel, the daughter of the late Felix and Agnes (Koppa) Jakubowski. She married Albert Schwichtenberg on Nov. 5, 1949, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. He died April 21, 2004.
Pauline was a homemaker, an active member of St. Francis Xavier Church, and was involved in many committees, including the St. Jerome Circle. She had many hobbies, including knitting, crocheting and making beautiful patchwork quilts, which will be treasured for years to come by her family. Pauline was a very generous and caring person. She sewed several hundred chemo caps and knit many newborn hats, which she donated to local hospitals. She also donated many patchwork quilts to shelters. She had a green thumb and greatly enjoyed tending to her flowers. Pauline also enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean (Gerald) Cartwright, Mosinee, and Diane (Jerome) Budnik and Gail (Kevin) Brown, both of Knowlton; a son, Allen (Neatha) Schwichtenberg, Knowlton; six grandchildren, Kenneth Cartwright, Stratford, Terry Knoeck, Marathon, Heather Budnik, Chicago, Jason Budnik, and Stephanie and Andrew Brown, all of Knowlton; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Dustin Knoeck, Marathon; a brother, Leonard (Lorraine) Jakubowski, Rothschild; and two sisters, Joyce (Chet) Kesy, Mosinee, and Gladys Ginter, Wisconsin Rapids. She was preceded in death by a son, David.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. The Rev. Joseph Grassl will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Knowlton. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, where at 7 p.m. there will be a prayer service. Visitation will be again from 9:30 a.m. Monday until time of services at the church.
