Marion "Ma" D. Kroll

Marion "Ma" D. Kroll, 75, Marathon, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Wausau Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, Rib Mountain.

Rev. John Roseth will preside. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marion D. Kroll

Marion "Ma" D. Kroll, 75, Marathon, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Wausau Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Aug. 30, 1933, in Eau Claire, daughter of the late Harold and Elsie (Ewan) Scheffler.

On Feb. 14, 2001, she married Fred Kroll at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, Rib Mountain. He survives.

Marion enjoyed her time spent cooking and tending bar for more than 25 years. Among her many interests, she enjoyed fishing; spending time with her family; playing polka music with the family band, Ken Scheffler and the Relatives; and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Kroll, Marathon; five children, Mark (Mary) Loos, Marathon, Brian (Sally) Loos, Mosinee, Tommy Loos, Marathon, Jane (Jerry) Herzog, Wausau, and Jay Loos, Colby; five stepchildren, Fred (Debbie) Kroll III, Bentonville, Ark., Mike Kroll, Texas, John (Karla) Kroll, Kristen Kroll and Heather (Duane) Larson, all of Wausau; 10 grandchildren, Tamara Loos, Erica Loos, Kurstin (Andy) Kolodziej, Marissa, Malinda and Krystal Loos, Heather (fiancé, Bruce) Busko, Jennifer (fiancé, Andy) Loos, Ambrosia and John Loos; eight step-grandchildren, Judd and Sean Herzog, Zachary, Nathan, Michaela and Karissa Kroll, Morgan and McKenzie Larson; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brendan, Dominic, Lucy and Calen; two step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth (Betty) Scheffler, Athens, Myron (Darlene) Scheffler, Edgar, and Dave (Emmie) Scheffler, Greenville; four sisters-in-law, Shirley Lauterbach, Walworth, Evelyn Negri, Phoenix, Marion (Tom) Unti, Eagle River, and Janice Garberg, Seattle; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Julie Schauer; and one sister, Dorothy Krueger.

Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, Rib Mountain. The Rev. John Roseth will officiate. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the church.

Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
