Kobs, Ilma Elizabeth (1 Feb. 1913 - 15 Apr. 2009)

Ilma E. Kobs, 96, of Spencer, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the House of the Dove, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

A visitation is planned from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Spencer. Funeral services are pending.

SPENCER -- Ilma Elizabeth Kobs, 96, of Spencer, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the House of the Dove under the tender care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Spencer, and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Pastor Karl Rose will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Spencer. Pallbearers will be Brian Kobs, Michael Kobs, Norm Kommer, Jerald Kobs, Mark Meyer and Mark Tremmel.

Ilma was born Feb. 1, 1913, to William and Minnie (Griepentrog) Kommer in Spencer. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1932. She was united in holy marriage May 2, 1936, to Willard Kobs at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. Ilma was a longtime farmer and worked 25 years at Land O'Lakes in Spencer.

Ilma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer and was a member of the Ladies Aid at the church. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Spencer. Ilma loved baking cookies for her grandchildren and playing cards, especially sheepshead. Ilma is lovingly survived by her daughter, Shirley (DuWayne) Tremmel, Marshfield, and her son, Bill (Grace) Kobs, Wausau. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

Ilma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Willard; her parents; brother, Norman Kommer; and sister, Vila Wittman.

Memorials in Ilma's name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Hannah Center.
