Nass, Robert D. (August 17, 1932 - April 19, 2009)
Robert D. Nass died Sunday afternoon while doing what he loved, dancing.
He was born to the late Max and Ella (Lambrecht) Nass on August 17, 1932 in the town of Berlin.
After serving our country in Korea, Bob came home and married LoRayne Heise on July 2, 1955 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rib Falls. Bob worked as a welder fabricator for Gehl Co., West Bend. In 1972, Bob brought LoRayne and their son Dave to Marathon City. He continued as a welder fabricator for Loed and Lemke’s Machinery where he retired in July 1994.
Bob loved traveling, polka music, dancing, playing cards with family and friends, fishing and woodworking. He loved being around people. After LoRayne died in 2002, the Lord gave Bob a second chance at life. God’s plan gave Bob a new best friend LeIla Heise to share in all the things he loved to do. Bob kept busy with Dave and his wife Kathy Bellile-Nass. Bob loved his grandchildren, Jesse (Lisa) Nass and Tayler, Dan Nass and his daughter, Raigen, Corporal Barrie Nass and his friend Kate, Robbie (fiancé- Kim Harvey) Nass, Chas Nass and step granddaughter, Jodi Bellile. Bob also loved finding time for LeIla’s family, Terry and Debbie Stencil, Rodney and Bonnie Stieber, Ryan and Linda Berg, Pat and Lisa Heise and all their loving families. The rest of Bob’s very close knit family is Elvera (Hugo) Beilke, Dorothy (Milford) Jaeger, Bonnie Jeanne (David) Radtke, Phyllis (Allen) Buch, DuWayne (Carol) Nass, Lucille (Eddie) Pufahl and last but not least, all of his nieces and nephews that he loved to joke around with. Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Reuben.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Wausau. Reverend Tim Vanden-Langenberg will preside. Burial will be in the town of Berlin Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, is assisting the family with arrangements.
