Haderlein, John (26 Dec. 1878 - 16 July 1947)

John Haderlein, age 68, a resident of the Milan vicinity for 43 years and who served as chairman of the town of Johnson for eight years and as justice of the peace for 20 years, died Wednesday, July 16, at his home following a brief illness. Funeral services were held at Milan on Saturday afternoon and burial was made in the Athens cemetery.

Mr. Haderlein was born Dec. 26, 1878, in Bavaria, Germany, and came to the United States about 1900. He married Miss Elizabeth Yolke in Athens Nov. 26, 1903. When the couple moved to the Milan community in 1904, he became a blacksmith and followed that trade until 1921, after which he became active in civic affairs.

Survivors are his widow, four sons, Herman Haderlein, Chicago; Frank, Andrew and Rudolph Haderlein, all of Milan; three daughters, Mrs. Stephen Stanke, Mrs. Charles Taylor and Mrs. Charles Young, of Chicago; a sister, Miss Elizabeth Haderlein, who lives in Germany, and six grand children.
